Kumiko Tani (Re-cycle style Director.Costume designer)

Born in Japan and moved to London UK, graduated at Central Saint Martins College of Art and design.

She has started “Re-cycle style”since 2008 and worked with photographer Kaori Ito. Her Newspaper Collection caught the attention of various magazines and galleries in the U.K. and Japan who have since featured her work (Dased & Confused .Fudge. Untitled magazine). Currently she is designing and styling costumes for several theatre production companies including; Secret Cinema, a performance for Friends of the Earth,

Also she makes costumes for the musicians Sonja Kristina from Curved Air , Gabby Young , Joji Hirota and Physical poets (Yuka Bouuchi and Iori Kinki). Kumiko has worked with many different artists on workshops and exhibitions internationally.

Recently she showed her work at Brighton fashion week sustain show in 2014 and 2015, The Ethical fashion college in Japan 2015 and Berlin Alternative fashion show in 2015 and 2016.

Her latest collection “Lindt Hello chocolate collection” were made with chocolate packages. Material sponsored by Lindt Hello chocolate.(Direction and Dress by Kumiko Tani/Headpieces and makeup by Yuki Sato/accessory by Ichika Suzuki) and showed at Berlin Alternative fashion week “REUSE: it” show in March 2016.

コスチュームデザイナー/環境アーティスト　Central Saint Martins College卒業、カイリー・ ミノーグやポール・マッカートニーの衣装製作やパイレーツ・オブ・カリビアンやアラジンなどのディズニー映画、シアタープロダクションなどの製作チーム等に参加し経験を積む。再生可能エネルギーや持続可能な社会に興味をもち、イギリス、日本を拠点にアップサイクル＝リサイクル可能な材料を使用して衣装を制作し、イギリスやドイツで行われるファッションウィーク・サステナブル部門でのコレクションの発表、グリーンピース・ジャパンなどの国際環境NGOや企業と環境アートプロジェクトなどを行っている。

2015 Brighton Fashion week（イギリス）、2015 エシカルファッションカレッジ（日本）、2015-2018 Berlin Alternative Fashion week （ドイツ）、2017-2018 イギリスにある太陽光、風力発電所Westmill Sustainable Energy Trust (www.weset.org)のイベント参加。2018−2019国際環境NGOグリーンピースジャパンとアーティストコラボレーション、2019アースディ東京メインステージでの作品発表、エコバックワークショップ開催,大阪阪急うめだ本店催事”Good for the future“参加、2020/2021ミスユニバース、ミスユニバシティ選考会への衣装提供など。
